Kay Callaway picked up her first Harlequin Romance at age thirteen, while babysitting for a neighbor. Like many, she was undeniably hooked on handsome heroes and the sometimes helpless (or not) heroines who needed them! She’s enjoyed a variety of genres ever since being a young teen with her friends, reading those sweet Harlequins at slumber parties.

Finding the confidence to seriously pursue being an author didn’t come until 2012. Upon joining Romance Writers of America (RWA), Kay belonged to the WISRWA chapter in Wisconsin which helped open doors to learning, but also the commitment to succeed. She now writes contemporary romance with a twist of wit and sass combined for a fun, light hearted read.

Learning the craft is very exciting, and so is meeting published authors or getting a favorite book autographed.  Kay began to believe that maybe someday that could be her. Now, SWFRW is the chapter she calls her writers ‘home’ where she is currently serving on the board as Vice President. The iupport of SWFRW to every person at any level of writing is incredible.

In 2016, Kay, along with her husband Al, cashed in their chips up North, sold a thriving special event production business and joined the ranks of those enjoying the Florida lifestyle. Kay has two incredibly tall, good looking and wonderful children, Joshua and Tiffany. In time, she hopes to gently coerce them into moving to Florida.  For now, a hundred-pound white Golden Retriever named Toby, and a naughty kitty named Astro help keep Kay and her hubby company.  When not writing, or spending time with family, you can bet she is on a cruise somewhere fabulous, exploring the world, and taking notes for her next story idea.
